Mata Ka Mandir opened its doors for the devotees on 19th May, 1991

This was made possible by the untiring efforts of the founder President Late Sh. S C Chhabra (Padmashri) and his office bearers :

  • Late Shri. S R Kharabanda (Treasurer)
  • Shri. M L Sethi
    (Jt. Secretary)

& the devoted members of the founding managing committee. Also great efforts and contributions in cash and kind by many devotees.

The Mandir comprises of 3 floors- The top floor is the sanctum sanctorum- where ‘Maa Bhagwati’ is the main deity but other deities too have their respected abodes.

Over the years other deities of worship were also incorporated – Sai Baba and then Shani Dev & Maa Kali.

Hawan Kund

At mid level, there is the Hawan Kund - Where hawans/marriages etc. are held.

The floor below the main area is a large hall where functions of the Mandir are held - Chowkies, Religious talks etc.

Then there is semi basement where Prasad is served.

The hall and the basement can be booked by society at large for their functions – Chowkies, Bhandaras & Religious Talks etc as also for solemn occassions.

At Mata Mandir there is also a ‘Mini Gufa’- like at Vaishno Devi.

The Mandir also has another complex close by where there is a Physiotherapy Centre on the Ground Floor and a Health Centre on 1st Floor, where Doctors from different branches visit. This seva is provided at a very nominal fee.

Today, Mata Ka Mandir (New Friends Colony) is not only a landmark in South Delhi, but is also known all over the City.
